after Wolfenstein 3D, Doom I&II, Quake 1&2, Quake 3 was a must have for me! The progress throughout the mentioned games was very noticable. starting from EGA graphics in Wolfenstein 3D over to epic mars monsters in Doom to actual model usement instead of simple sprites in Quake 1. Quake 3 came with the multiplayer aspect. (Not to say that Doom 2 wasnot fun in a direct connect). played it countless hours. Nowadays Quake 3 plays in browsers ... its called www.Quakelive.com (as of today in open beta test).
